Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy provides information on the processing of personal data related to the website
operated under the control of Bürchnerné dr Karkos Petra e.v., under the name SkillBuilder Workshop
(https://skillbuilder.hu, hereinafter referred to as the “Website”).

The Data Controller acknowledges this Privacy Policy as binding upon itself. The Data Controller
processes the personal data of the Website’s users in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of
the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and Act
CXII of 2011 on the Right to Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information, in
compliance with the applicable legal provisions in force at all times.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

The processing of personal data related to the SkillBuilder Workshop serves in particular the
following purposes:

  • handling applications,
  • maintaining contact with participants and their legal guardians,
  • organizing and conducting the workshop,
  • fulfilling administrative and invoicing obligations,
  • providing information related to participation.

Personal data are processed exclusively for the purpose of processing applications, maintaining
contact, and providing the service.

3. Scope of Processed Data

3.1. Data related to applications

  • student’s name
  • student’s age / grade
  • name of parent or legal guardian
  • parent’s email address
  • student’s email address
  • telephone number (for contact purposes)
  • name of school (if provided)

3.2. Billing-related data

  • billing name
  • billing address
  • email address
  • fact and date of payment

3.3. Communication-related data

  • content of email or other written communication
  • feedback related to participation

3.4. Technical data

  • technical data related to the use of the online application form
    (e.g. date and time of form submission)

4. Legal Basis of Data Processing

The legal basis of data processing is the voluntary, informed, and explicit consent of the data
subject or, in the case of a minor, the legal guardian (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and in the case of
billing-related data, the fulfillment of a legal obligation.

Applications for the Workshop are submitted by recording the data provided on the “Application”
interface or via email.

By finalizing the application, the applicant – or, in the case of a minor, the legal guardian – declares
that they have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of personal
data in accordance with its provisions.

The data provided during the application process are received by the Data Controller, who confirms
the application and conducts further communication related to the organization of the Workshop.

5. Data Retention Period

Personal data related to applications and communication are processed until the completion of the
workshop or as long as necessary for the organization and execution of the program.

Billing-related data are retained by the Data Controller for the period required by applicable legal
regulations.

6. Data Transfer and Data Processors

The Data Controller does not transfer personal data to third parties, except in the following cases:

  • technical and IT service providers, such as:

    • the website hosting provider,
    • the online application form service provider,
    • the email service provider,
    • the invoicing software provider,

    who process the data solely on the instructions of the Data Controller as data processors;

  • authorities entitled by law, in cases of legal obligation.

Instructors involved in the program may access personal data only to the extent necessary for the
organization and conduct of the workshop and solely on the instructions of the Data Controller; they
do not perform independent data processing.

7. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Remedies

Personal data provided by the Data Subject to the Data Controller must be accurate, complete, and
up to date in all respects.

The Data Subject may request information about the processing of their personal data, request the
rectification of inaccurate personal data, or – except in cases of mandatory data processing –
request the deletion or withdrawal of their data, exercise their right to data portability, and object
to data processing, using the contact details provided above.

Right to Information

The right to information may be exercised in writing using the contact details specified in this
Privacy Policy.

Right of access: The Data Subject is entitled to receive confirmation as to whether or not
personal data concerning them are being processed and, where that is the case, access to the
personal data and information regarding the purposes of processing, categories of personal data,
recipients or categories of recipients, planned retention period, rights to rectification, erasure,
restriction or objection, the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, information on
data sources, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling.

The Data Controller shall provide a copy of the personal data undergoing processing. For any
additional copies requested by the Data Subject, the Data Controller may charge a reasonable fee
based on administrative costs. Upon request, information shall be provided in electronic format.
The Data Controller shall respond within one month of receipt of the request.

Right to rectification: The Data Subject may request the correction of inaccurate personal
data and the completion of incomplete data.

Right to erasure: The Data Subject is entitled to request the erasure of personal data without
undue delay where one of the following grounds applies:

  • the personal data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
  • the Data Subject withdraws consent and there is no other legal ground for processing;
  • the Data Subject objects to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds;
  • the personal data have been unlawfully processed;
  • the personal data must be erased for compliance with a legal obligation;
  • the personal data were collected in relation to the offer of information society services.

The right to erasure does not apply where processing is necessary for exercising the right of
freedom of expression and information; compliance with a legal obligation; performance of a task
carried out in the public interest; public health, archiving, scientific or historical research or
statistical purposes; or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Right to restriction of processing: The Data Subject may request restriction of processing if:

  • the accuracy of the personal data is contested;
  • the processing is unlawful and the Data Subject opposes erasure;
  • the Data Controller no longer needs the data, but the Data Subject requires them;
  • the Data Subject has objected to processing.

Where processing has been restricted, personal data shall only be processed with the Data
Subject’s consent or for legal purposes. The Data Controller shall inform the Data Subject before
lifting the restriction.

Right to data portability: The Data Subject has the right to receive their personal data in a
structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

Right to object: The Data Subject has the right to object at any time to the processing of
their personal data.

Right to withdraw consent: The Data Subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time.
